Domain name questions - solutions

What's a trade?

A. Trade is a modification of the owner of a domain name.
There are two different kinds of trades:
- change of owner without change of hosting provider
- change of owner with change of hosting provider (trade + transfer)

B. Original situation
The domain name you would like to register, is already registered by somebody else. You need to contact the current owner to ask him if he wants to sell the domain name.

The current owner will probably ask for a compensation.

- Go the www.whois.net

- Enter your domain name and you will receive information of the owner

- Send him an e-mail with your request

C. Procedure of a trade of a domain name
As soon as you received confirmation of the current owner of the domain name, you can start the procedure for the trade.

- Ask the current owner to change the status of the domain name to 'unlock'

- Go to your Domain Manager

- Enter the domain name in 'Add / transfer a domain name'

- Click ' Check Now!'

- Click 'Modify the licensee of the domain name.'

- Click 'Next'

- Enter your information and click 'Next'

- E-ZONE.fr will check your identity and will send an e-mail to the current and new owner.

D. Cost of a trade

The owner of the domain name has not only changed, but you also received a one year subscription of the domain name.

For some extensions, like the .COM and .NET, the trade is for free.
