Domain name questions - solutions

Which domain names can I choose?

E-ZONE.fr can register any domain name in more than 300 extensions.

A. General rules

You can register any domain name on following conditions:

- the domain name is not registered by someone else.

- the domain name is minimum 2 and maximum 63 characters long.

- the characters are letters (a-z), numbers (0-9) or the hyphen (-).

- the domain name may not start with a hyphen (-).

- legally protected names (such as brand names) can technically be registered, but they can later be claimed through legal means by the owner of the protected name.

B. Specific rules

For the common extensions (.fr, .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .lu, .co, .uk, ...), there are no other restrictions, and the registration is entirely liberalized.
For certain extensions, however, specific restrictions are applied by local authorities. Some countries require a local presence, others a registration in the register of commerce. Other requirements are also possible.
Further information regarding this, or regarding the possibility to register a certain extension, you can check it here.
